Boston has a long history, and because of that, there are some tales of the unexplained. Rumors of hauntings, old buildings, and a sense that the past is very much alive in the city all make Halloween an enjoyable experience. Here’s a look at some of the best Halloween-related activities that Boston and surrounding cities have to offer:

Ghost Ship Harbor

A twist on the classic haunted house experience, Ghost Ship Harbor offers guests the chance to enjoy a chilling story. Guests will board the USS Salem in Quincy, a warship that was built in the 1940’s and converted to a museum to hear the tale of Ghost Ship Harbor, a chilling nightmare of an imagined tale that tells the story of a Plague that ravages humanity, and the USS Salem is the only hope of survival. It is a unique experience worthy of Halloween! This show occurs in October on weekends leading up to Halloween.

Boston Night Tour

If you’re looking for a tour that will highlight all the haunted experiences in Boston, you won’t want to miss the Boston Night Tour! Learn about historical events such as the Boston Massacre and frightening figures such as the Boston Strangler through a combination of riding the trolley and walking. While this is a great activity for Halloween, it is actually available throughout the year, as well.

Halloween Pub Crawl

Does your idea of the perfect Halloween involve plenty of pubs? If so, consider joining this year’s Official Halloween Pub Crawl on October 31, 2016. Costumes are optional, but they are part of the fun. Grab your tickets as soon as you can because this event tends to sell out. There are two check-in options – one at the Hard Rock Café and the other at Mija Cantina.

Comedy from the Crypt

Do you prefer to laugh rather than be frightened? If so, a great Halloween activity for you to attend is the Comedy from the Crypt event at Improv Boston. Located on Prospect Street in Cambridge, Improv Boston is about a twenty-minute drive from the Devonshire Apartments. This comedy show features nationally touring comedians and is sure to make you laugh with its Halloween-based comedy. The show is on October 31, 2016 at 8 PM.

Zoo Howl and Midnight Zoo

If you would love to spend your Halloween near animals, consider visiting either the Zoo Howl during the day or the Midnight Zoo event at night, both of which are taking place at the Franklin Park Zoo during weekends in October leading up to Halloween. During the Zoo Howl, children are able to go trick or treating while also enjoying the regular events at the zoo. During Midnight Zoo, guests have a chance to learn about the zoo at night as well as participate in an interactive, adventure experience. As you can see, there is a Halloween-related activity for everyone in the Boston area!
