Boston has a long tradition of being a great city for music. Aside from the typical ways to enjoy live music, such as attending a performance or a concert, you can also listen to live music while enjoying a great meal! These Boston restaurants not only have great food, but also frequently have live music:

The Beehive

The Beehive’s menu reflects its varied tastes, and so does the live music it features late at night. The cuisine is distinctly international, with menu choices such as eggplant parmesan and braised rabbit. Their live music reflects these varied tastes, as well. The lineup could feature anything from rock music, to jazz music, to R&B. It’s located in the South End on Tremont Street.

Bostonia Public House

If you’re looking for a great place to enjoy a good meal and some pleasant music, you should consider heading to the Bostonia Public House. Located on State Street, this restaurant is only a four-minute walk from the Devonshire Apartments. The menu features dishes such as risotto, crab crusted cod, and duck confit. The live music ranges from piano players, to guitar players, to DJs, which means there’s something for everyone.

Lucky’s Lounge

Lucky’s Lounge is another convenient choice to enjoy dinner and live music. It is conveniently located, since it is only a fifteen-minute walk and a five-minute drive from the Devonshire Apartments. Aside from having a great menu that offers items such as clam chowder, burgers, and steak tips, they also boast live music on most nights of the week including cover bands, reggae bands, and piano players. It was recognized as the Improper Bostonian’s “Best Neighborhood Bar” in 2015.

Loretta’s Last Call

Although you will need to drive about twenty minutes to get to Loretta’s Last Call from the Devonshire Apartments, it’s worth the trip! This bar, which is located near Fenway Park, has a southern theme, and this is reflected in both its menu and its music. Enjoy southern foods such as fried chicken and fried green tomatoes while listening to country music and be sure to join in on some of the dancing, as well.

Darryl’s Corner Bar and Kitchen

Darryl’s Corner Bar and Kitchen is as well known for its southern comfort food as it is for its live music, which primarily focuses on jazz and features performers from Berklee College of Music. Enjoy food such as fried catfish, tacos, and Cajun shrimp while listening to the live bands. This hotspot is a fifteen-minute drive from the Devonshire Apartments. There are plenty of places in Boston where you can enjoy both dinner and live music. In fact, there is something in the city to suit every palate and musical taste!
