Attend These Free Summer Concerts In Boston
Boston comes alive during the summer and there is no shortage of things to do! Listening to live music is a great summer activity! Be sure to check out some of these free concerts during the next few months:
Berklee Summer in the City
From now through September, Berklee Summer in the City offers more than 400 free performances at various locations throughout the Boston area. These concerts are open to the public and many feature Berklee graduates and local musicians.
Starting in June at Brewer Plaza, you can enjoy the music of singer, pianist, and keyboardist Briana Washington, who will perform from June 12th
to June 15th
. After that, Tommaso Taddania will perform from June 18th
to June 22nd
. All concerts that take place at Brewer Plaza will begin at 12 PM.
Lovers of Latin music will want to head to The Tito Puento Latin Music Series. Performers will include Berklee faculty, students, and world-renowned artists. Concerts in the Courtyard
The Boston Public Library has a unique design that features a large, indoor courtyard. Each summer the library runs a concert seres called Concerts in the Courtyard, which runs until August 31, 2018. Concerts are held twice a week: Wednesday evenings at 6PM and Friday afternoons at 12:30PM, weather permitting.If it is raining, the concerts will take place in Rabb Hall. Berklee’s Free Concerts at the Charleston Navy Yard
Every Thursday evening at 6 PM starting on June 28th
, you can enjoy free music at the Charleston Navy Yard. There will be a different musical group featured each Thursday. On June 28th
, Maddakaya will treat you to sounds of reggae, R & B, and pop. On July 5th
, Mirella Costa will perform her country’s classic songs as well as her own arrangements. Up-and-coming pop/rock and R & B band Beya will perform on July 12th. Check out the full list of free concerts here
Concerts at Kendall Square
Kendall Square, which is located along the Charles River, will host live music on Thursdays at 12 PM and will continue through August. Enjoy different styles of music including folk, pop, jazz, and more. In addition to the music, you can also explore the farmer’s market and food trucks that will also be at Kendall Square.
Summer Concerts at Harvard Longview Campus
This summer, Berklee College of Music and Harvard University are collaborating to offer you an array of music. The concert series will include 7th
Degree, a nine-piece funk and fusion bad that will be performing on Wednesday, July 11th
at 12:30 PM. Other performances will include: Santanio Jackson (drums), Brianna Nelson (folk/pop artist), and Martin Tamisier. Check this page
