The Best Places to Spend Valentine’s Day in Boston

Valentine’s Day is about all things romance and if you have someone special in your life, the day can be even more fun. But whether you have a special someone or you’ll be spending the holiday single, Boston has something for everyone! Here are some of our favorite things to do this year for Valentine’s Day:

Dining in the Dark

Nothing says romance like wearing a blindfold. This unique dining experience cuts off your sense of sight, which is said to fully increase the pleasure of the food you’re eating. This event takes place on February 13th and 14th at the Hampshire House, a Georgian style townhouse on Beacon Street. Whether you attend the event with your best friends or with someone special, this will certainly make for a memorable Valentine’s Day!

Romantic Dinner Cruise

Although it’s a bit cold out there on the water, you can keep things warm inside the boat by taking a romantic dinner cruise during Valentine’s Day weekend! Whether you choose a romantic brunch or an evening cruise, cruising Boston Harbor has romance written all over it! Check out what both Spirit Cruises and Odyssey Cruises have to offer to see if one of the Valentine’s Day cruises appeals to you. Note, this is not an ideal choice for singles – these cruises are geared towards couples.

Speed Dating

It can be difficult to be single on Valentine’s Day, but speed dating can definitely spice up your love life! The Single Ladies Café is running a Valentine’s Day event called “The Princess and the Frog,” which is a speed dating and networking event all in one. If you don’t meet the love of your life, perhaps you can find some excellent business contacts. Either way, it promises to be a fun night.

Boston Wine Expo

The Boston Wine Expo takes place this year on February 13th and February 14th and is a perfect romantic outing for couples that love wine! However, you don’t need to be paired up with someone special in order to enjoy the day’s events. All you really need is to find someone who enjoys wine as much as you do, even if it is just a close friend. Spend your day tasting wine, watching cooking demos, and listening to an expert lecture about the world of wine.

Valentine’s Dinner Dance

Unlike the Wine Expo, which takes place over the course of a weekend, the Boston Wine Festival celebrates the enjoyment of wine from January until March and has a constant lineup of stellar events concerning wine. The annual Valentine Dinner Dance is one of the festival’s highlights because it makes for the perfect romantic outing! Enjoy great food and wine while dancing the night away with someone that you love. It doesn’t matter if you have a date for Valentine’s Day or not. Boston offers plenty of choices for those who are looking to have some fun celebrating romance.
